Firdevs Duru Ph.D. - Chief Executive Officer

Firdevs’s previous research experience ranges from Experimental High Energy Physics at the Large Hadron Collider, to Space Physics involving the Ionosphere of Mars. Her role at xDose is managing and growing the team, analyzing and publishing data we produce and plotting the course for the future of the company.

Ugur Akgun Ph.D. - Director of Research and Development

Ugur’s focus has been on developing radiation-tolerant scintillating material for use in high-energy physics experiments. Recently, he has developed high-density scintillating glasses for proton imaging applications, water equivalent, and radiation-hard elastomer scintillators. His role at the company is to lead these research efforts into materials development, as well as Monte Carlo simulations of our detector systems.

James Wetzel Ph.D. - Chief Technology Officer

James earned his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2014. He’s been involved in radiation-hard technology research since then, helping to show that quartz is an effective detector medium, that UV lights can reverse radiation damage to scintillators, and that the inherent recovery from radiation damage to scintillators is transient. His role at xDose is to develop the fast DAQ systems, and test the technology required to produce new detector systems.
